Lighthouse Bible Church

Brief

Develop a new brand identity for the newly re-named church. The pastor’s vision was inspired from Matthew 5:14 “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.

Scope

Logo Design / Identity Design / Art Direction / Web Design / Illustration / Content Writing / UX Experience

Undergoing a complete name change for a church is always a revolution, and it was decided that almost all the previous symbolism needed to be left with the old name. The vision was a changed direction and the logo needed to reflect this new way of thinking.

The lighthouse needed to be subtle but direct, and the text friendly and inviting. The 3 dots within the light are the only hint to the old logo, which had 3 conspicuous dots as a creed to the church mission. Flexibility for use across many mediums was a must.

The website required a page by page overhaul as well, showcasing the new attitude and rediscovered purpose of the church.

With messages that extend beyond the immediate community, it was decided to live-stream and archive weekly video sermons for anybody’s access.

Having a wide goal of targeting the general public, ease of use, mobile compatibility, and informative content was necessary, overlayed with an inviting, welcoming tone.

I’m not currently looking for another office job, but am always interested in a new collaboration opportunity.
